
Attorney General Douglas Gansler served as Chair of the Democratic Association of Attorneys General (DAGA) from 2007 through 2009. DAGA is a national political organization formed to support the election of Democrats to the office of Attorney General. DAGA hosts numerous events with Democratic Attorneys General designed to engage corporate, civic, and individual members in thoughtful analysis of some of the most important issues facing the Country. During his tenure as a Chair of DAGA, Attorney General Gansler hosted a policy conference in Annapolis that included 15 Attorneys General from around the Country and featured policy panels on the environment, marriage quality, and charter schools. Panelists and speakers came from both the public and private sector, and included the Former Director of the United States Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Regulatory Enforcement as well as best-selling author and prize-winning journalist Bob Woodward. Attorney General Gansler remains an active member of DAGA.
Since taking office, Doug Gansler has distinguished himself by prosecuting polluters of the Chesapeake Bay, protecting consumers from corporate and insurance fraud, safeguarding the public from gangs, and attacking the underbelly of the Internet. More
